Spot On

Even though it was a busy weekend, I got in a bit of stitching on Spot of Autumn by The Drawn Thread. Last time, I had completed the tree in the center. Now see what I've added:

These seasonal Spots are a very quick little stitch and a nice introduction to some other embroidery stitches besides the ever-popular cross stitch. This is on 36 ct linen, so it's just one strand of floss over two threads, giving it a nice, delicate look.

On Saturday evening we celebrated the two baptisms in the family for our daughter-in-law Sarah and new grandson Isaac that took place during the Sunday morning worship service. All of our family came over and I had the kitchen island covered with snacks and finger foods. My son Brendan became the new favorite uncle with the three Winckler boys when he brought out his realistic light sabers and he, Uncle Daniel, and the boys all had turns at fighting with them in the dark back yard.

And here are the new parents presenting their child for baptism, which occurred following his mother's baptism and church membership.

What a joyous day!

What a special time for your family. Nothing like shared faith in Christ to strengthen the family.

Great progress.
I like how Cynthia incorporates a few specialty stitches in her designs.
They add a little cuteness.
