I headed out of town, all by my lonesome, on Friday afternoon to spend a little time with my sister-in-law on the west side of the state, and to attend my nephew's (my sister's son) graduation from Northwest University on Saturday. Kris and I met at Anthony's Homeport in Kirkland for dinner, loving the sunshine and beautiful view of Lake Washington along with some great food.
The next morning was Ryan's graduation, so I left Kris' early and got to Overlake Christian Church in good time, to meet with my family and find seating together. And my daughter, Melanie, surprised me by coming over from Kennewick that morning!
My sister, Janeale, and her family Tara, Janeale, Ryan, and Jeff |
Then on Mother's Day, after church, several of my kids came to spend the afternoon with me in the back yard. The weather was just so gorgeous and I've been so busy lately, I wanted to relax and enjoy my kids and my roses!
The best kind of Mother's Day to me.

So glad you had a great time on this side of the mountains! Your yard is so pretty, no wonder you wanted to spend the day there with your children. My DD came over and we had a great visit! Plus on Sat. I had a long talk on the phone with our son and wonderful DIL.
Your roses are breathtakingly beautiful. ( I think that's a word )
Congratulations to the young man.
Yor garden looks spectacular - so many blooms.
You seemed to have had a nice visit with your sister and her family.
Great that you could relax and enjoy your family and your roses on Mother's Day.
Congratulations to Ryan and lucky you to have a good graduation speaker. Cant say I've had that privilege :)
Your flowers are so lovely--what a perfect yard to spend Mother's Day in!
Sounds like you had the very best kind of Mother's Day - family and your garden.
Your visit with your sister & family and attending your nephew's graduation must have been very special.
