Yes, I've been challenged to reactivate this sweet hardanger doily by my guild friend, Laura. We began a SAL for this piece a couple of years ago - Laura finished, I did not. Well she's been plotting another project, a hardanger table runner, but she says we won't start until I've finished the first one. :D
We used a very pretty light shade of pink lugana stitched with white DMC perle coton. Back then, Laura shared her book with me, but now I need to go ahead and buy a copy of the book for myself. This design is from Hardanger Embroidery by Jill Carter, and the book is filled with wonderful projects, gorgeous photography, and excellent instructions. It deserves a place in my library!
I've often posted about my bread and cookie baking, but have neglected to share with you my trusty workhorse that makes it all possible. This is my friend, an old Bosch mixer, which I bought used probably fifteen years ago - and it was old then! It's not an all-in-one breadmaker, but it does knead a huge batch of bread or even mix stiff cookie doughs. Without old trusty here, I wouldn't even think of baking the way I do!
The weather here continues to be cold and gray. Ugh!

Your Hardanger doily is lovely.I laughed when I saw your mixer because I have something simular that is now 19 years old and probably on its last legs lol.
Your hardanger is gorgeous, glad you've picked it up again.

Have a nice weekend.
You are really inspiring me to try some hardanger every time I look at yours...it looks very perfect... and your cookies look very tasty !
YOur bright yellow mixer is so charming . Isn't it great how something can last so long, be so useful and bring on so many memories. I use my bread machine mostly just to prepare the bread and hen bake it in the oven. I am so glad to have it ,but it dosn't have the charm of your Bosch.
You know? I thought about what you said about old trusty there, and I thought, it's a shame that things aren't made like they used to be! Older things actually seem to have more quality. I guess that was back in the day when people actually cared about what they made, not like today where people throw something together as fast as possible to sell it for a dollar! Your cookies DO look scrummy!
