Portland Bound

So DH calls me in the middle of the day last Wednesday. "Uh, I forgot to tell you that we're going to Portland next Monday, staying the night and coming home Tuesday late afternoon for an Viking (insurance company) thing."

Argh! On one hand, whee!! Some time away, good food, fun. etc. On the other hand, we're just getting into the new school routine and I hate getting behind on correcting the kids' work - already!

So, off I go to pack my overnight bag. Think I'll just concentrate on having fun, and choosing a stitching project for the car ride!

It's my pleasure to send you the irises Von! It was too hot this past weekend here too, so I am still watching for a good day - one that is cooler and not rainy - LOL! Digging and sending them is at the top of my outdoor list! I did manage to get siberian irises off to Becky - they are easier to dig - so I have half my list done now :-)

Oh good, someone else who stitches in the car! You have to have something small on the go though, don't you? We've a trip to Cambridge and one to Dublin in Ireland coming up and I'm clean out of small projects, but I do want to make some cards for 'stock', so I can do a couple of small hardanger samples in the car.

Are you a teacher? You mentioned correcting kids' work. Or is that your own school ages babes?

I'm sure you'll catch up, Von! And stitching in the car: that's something I would love to be able to do. I always take my knitting with me!

Hi Von,

Enjoy your trip and your stitching. For the life of me I can't stitch while on the road. Gives me a headache.

BTW, thanks for dropping by my blog. You have been most kind to leave comments whenever I have a new post.

You're so committed to your homeschooling anyway, I'm sure you'll catch up with the the correcting very fast!
