Thank you for all the wonderful birthay greetings and wishes! I had such a nice day with a phone call from my Dad in Arizona, the activities of the afternoon that I've already written about, then dinner with DH at a riverside hotel. We sat out on their deck, looking at the river, watching the boats and the jet skis, enjoying an adult beverage. The food was excellent and the evening couldn't have been any better.
We passed on dessert at the restaurant as Kirsten had made a birthday cake for me. So we headed home to have cake with the kids, and to open my birthday gift from DH. What did he get me all those weeks ago? A shiatsu massaging cushion. And believe me, it does a good job!
The window frames weren't completely stained and ready to install, so the finishing will wait till tomorrow. I spent the late morning with my little pressure washer, washing down my house. I have about half the job finished. I'll finish here, then go outside and finish washing the house and then perhaps start to stain the underside of the deck. I won't be able to get it completely finished until the baby robins have left the nest and we can take it down.
Connie wanted to see some inside pictures of my family room sliders, so here they are, Connie! I think I probably need one more window to get the light that I'd really like to have, but I can use the wall space too. We're talking about taking out the paneling and ceiling and drywalling the whole room and installing recessed lights - heavy on the lights in the working end of the room. Can't wait to get going!
