Successful Weekend

The homeschool production of "Taming of the Shrew" was a tremendous success. Each actor gave an excellent performance, really rising to the occasion.

My sister and her family came up for the play and we had a wonderful day together Saturday, barbequing some pork ribs before heading back to the church for the play's second performance. Unfortunately, my nephew caught some virus and was ill on Sunday morning, so they headed home to Boise earlier than planned.

My Mother's Day was really nice, even though it was quiet. DD Kirsten had a little gift for me - a king-size Hershey bar with almonds and a coupon for a bowl of popcorn whenever I wanted, which I redeemed tonight to enjoy during the West Wing finale. After church, my little grandson, Hans, had a "card" that he had made and two pictures of him and Jaeger together. He was just so cute bringing me the little gift bag. Then he went off downstairs to help his other grandma with cookie duty, standing on a chair next to her and drinking his juice, lol!

The day was beautiful so I spent much of the afternoon outside on the deck, eating lunch and catching up on some of my magazines that had arrived this week. Then dh took me out shopping for a new dvd player, which we bought at Best Buy, so we can play movies again - yay!

I hope all of you had as good a day as I had. Now with the play over I'm planning to catch up on lots of neglected errands and blog reading - and laundry, of course, lol! And stitching, lots of stitching!

Happy mother's day, Von! I'm a bit late for the US, but in France, it's only in two weeks so I hadn't realized...
