A Weekend in the Sun

RV Resort 4 Seasons

We finally got out of town Saturday about noon on a wonderfully sunny, though cold day. That's our trailer, the first one on this street in the Four Seasons RV Park in Walla Walla. A very nice park with excellent facilities (meaning a great bathroom and showers) and even cable and wireless internet access. We stayed quite warm at night with our little electric heaters - why use our gas when we're paying for electricity in our hookup fees, lol!

Western White Clematis geocache

Sunday we spent all day out and about, searching for geocaches. This photo of our four youngest was taken near Ft. Walla Walla, which was closed for the winter. You can see the beautiful Blue Mountains in the background. We headed out towards the Whitman Mission site for a little history lesson, and more caches, of course.

Whitman Mission Site

This is a view of the mission site taken from the monument on the top of a nearby hill. What a view from the top! But I didn't see it this trip, as it was just too cold for me to hike up the hill. Kirsten and I spent time with the exhibits in the museum where she got just a little freaked out by the Indian mannequins, lol!

All this geocaching and I spent most of the time driving and waiting while the others found the caches. Very pleasant for me actually as I had my stitching along and I listened to the radio. I've started another of the alphabet series by M Designs - P - although you can't tell what letter it is yet! I'm using Thread Gatherer silk floss called Honey Blues, which I really love, on 32 ct. linen from my stash. It'll look great in my entry.

It sounds like everybody had fun. Including you, stitching... My family can't understand that either: that I'm very happy to be with my stitching for a few quiet hours.
I love your progress so far. The color is great, you're right.
good luck with it

Oh Oh Oh I love that honey blues color- You know how I am about color.
Your weekend sounds fun- I had never heard of geocaching so I clicked on your link and checked it out. Sounds interesting. I am not a big camper , but I would certainly give the geocaching a try. I may have to look and see if there is much of it going on in Germany.

Sounds like everyone had a good time. the M design is coming out nicely. The colour differances make it more unusual I think is the word I want...

I'm glad that everyone had such a good time, even if the indian mannequins freaked Kirsten out a little bit. ;) Great progress on the P from M Designs. I might have to buy the M someday and hang it somewhere in our house, as well. As long as you don't mind if I steal the idea. ;) You never know, my last name is short enough that I might be able to spell the whole thing one day! Are you about ready to stitch your next VS banner? March 1st is coming!

It was lovely to share your weekend photos - thank you for that. That blue sky!! We are going through a really wintry spell in UK (coming over from Scandinavia apparently :-( I really like the Honey Blues floss you are using currently - the colours are really scrumptious :o) I love turquoise combined with golds and terracotta - its a very Arabic combination. Have fun! xxx

Sounds like you and your family had a great trip! I clicked the geocaching link you gave us, but I can't even figure out what it is. It gave links to events, but no definition of what geocaching is, so I will have to do some research there :-)
