A Weekend in the Sun
We finally got out of town Saturday about noon on a wonderfully sunny, though cold day. That's our trailer, the first one on this street in the Four Seasons RV Park in Walla Walla. A very nice park with excellent facilities (meaning a great bathroom and showers) and even cable and wireless internet access. We stayed quite warm at night with our little electric heaters - why use our gas when we're paying for electricity in our hookup fees, lol!
Sunday we spent all day out and about, searching for geocaches. This photo of our four youngest was taken near Ft. Walla Walla, which was closed for the winter. You can see the beautiful Blue Mountains in the background. We headed out towards the Whitman Mission site for a little history lesson, and more caches, of course.
This is a view of the mission site taken from the monument on the top of a nearby hill. What a view from the top! But I didn't see it this trip, as it was just too cold for me to hike up the hill. Kirsten and I spent time with the exhibits in the museum where she got just a little freaked out by the Indian mannequins, lol!
All this geocaching and I spent most of the time driving and waiting while the others found the caches. Very pleasant for me actually as I had my stitching along and I listened to the radio. I've started another of the alphabet series by M Designs - P - although you can't tell what letter it is yet! I'm using Thread Gatherer silk floss called Honey Blues, which I really love, on 32 ct. linen from my stash. It'll look great in my entry.

Glad you had fun Von! I love sitting in the car and stitching while waiting for my family! All that nice sunshine coming in the windows!!!
Your "p" is going to be lovely, I really like the colors in the thread!
Great country, Von! Looks like a fun trip.
Mmmmmm, love the new M design you started. The silk color is to die for! VERY nice! Can't wait to see this finished.
Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog too :)
It sounds like everybody had fun. Including you, stitching... My family can't understand that either: that I'm very happy to be with my stitching for a few quiet hours.
I love your progress so far. The color is great, you're right.
good luck with it
You're pictures looks great,Von. Thanks for sharing them.
Lovely colours for the M designs, looking forward to the next progress.
Oh Oh Oh I love that honey blues color- You know how I am about color.
Your weekend sounds fun- I had never heard of geocaching so I clicked on your link and checked it out. Sounds interesting. I am not a big camper , but I would certainly give the geocaching a try. I may have to look and see if there is much of it going on in Germany.
Sounds like everyone had a good time. the M design is coming out nicely. The colour differances make it more unusual I think is the word I want...
Welcome back! Glad to hear you all had a nice time!
I LOVE the silk floss you are using for your M-designs project. The color changes are just amazing!
I'm glad that everyone had such a good time, even if the indian mannequins freaked Kirsten out a little bit. ;) Great progress on the P from M Designs. I might have to buy the M someday and hang it somewhere in our house, as well. As long as you don't mind if I steal the idea. ;) You never know, my last name is short enough that I might be able to spell the whole thing one day! Are you about ready to stitch your next VS banner? March 1st is coming!
hi mom i had so much fun

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! The pics are great.
It looks like you have a great time this week end!!! and your trailer is really big...our is the half of yours!!!!cheers
Sounds a great week end! Thanks for sharing!
Take care!
It was lovely to share your weekend photos - thank you for that. That blue sky!! We are going through a really wintry spell in UK (coming over from Scandinavia apparently :-( I really like the Honey Blues floss you are using currently - the colours are really scrumptious :o) I love turquoise combined with golds and terracotta - its a very Arabic combination. Have fun! xxx
Sounds like you had a great time on your weekend trip despite the cold temperatures!
Oh, I envy you...I love to camp and miss it as hubby's job doesn't leave a lot of time for that these days! I am so happy that you had a nice time!
hugs my friend!
Sounds like you and your family had a great trip! I clicked the geocaching link you gave us, but I can't even figure out what it is. It gave links to events, but no definition of what geocaching is, so I will have to do some research there :-)
Thanks for sharing the piccies Von - looks lovely :) And I'm drooling already over your M Designs letter - that colour really is gorgeous! :)) Still can't get over the fact you have wireless internet access at your trailer parks! ;P
Love the color you selected for your "P" -- m designs.
I stitch in the car, too. Lots of waiting on the boys for rehearsals to end.
Sounds like your week-end was wonderful : )
I've always been curious about geocaching since I saw in in a TV show.... Sounds fun, and what a great way to enjoy the outdoors!
Love your choice of Honey Blues for your "P" !
