Hello Spring

The forsythia bushes have been blooming and my tulips are showing out too, so it must truly be spring! We've had some decent enough weather this week and I've been out in the garden pruning all of my roses, very hard this year. Now the yard is full of rose canes to be chopped into the garbage. Wednesday I brought my oldest grandsons over to help begin the cleanup - they love to earn some extra money and I love the help! But we're a long way from being done so I hope the weather cooperates with me tomorrow (Saturday) and next week.

In this year's Nashville design releases, I found a couple that somehow found their way to my mailbox. First is Hello Spring by Plum Street Samplers. There is just something about the whimsical design and muted colors that appealed to me.

I pulled out a piece of 28ct Platinum Cashel I have in my stash and it seems to set off the floss colors really well. I made a run over to my local lns Saturday to pick up the called-for threads, but had to make one substitution as she didn't have Classic Colorworks Secret Garden. WDW Kudzu seemed to have the same colors so I went with that.

The other design I bought was the oh-so-popular Coffee Quaker by Heartstring Samplery. I tried to resist this one, but this caffeine addled brain just had to have it. While at the lns, I got the threads for that too, but I think I want to stitch it on 40ct linen so will have to order some, or see if the shop in Victoria has what I want when I get up there.

And I should have yet another new start this weekend as today's mail should bring the linen I ordered to stitch the Victoria Sampler design on for the upcoming retreat. Oh my, the wip bag is getting full!

Wishing you all a very happy, productive weekend! Tomorrow Gary and I get to do a little wine tasting when we pick up our latest wine club release from Kitzke Cellars!

Cheers!

What a pretty new start! Things are beginning to bloom here too but my tulips have a way to go. Today, however, is rainy and very windy! At least we have power, so far!

That is a lovely pattern - I love the colors on it!! I am trying not to buy patterns but the Nashville thing threw me over lol. Nice weather here too, not as rainy as it has been!

Lovely start. I also have some new stash from the Nashville releases and have started one. Spring is in full bloom here and I'm outside trying to clean up and transplant. Happy stitching and gardening.

Great new start. I love the Coffee Quaker, so many people are stitching that one! I also want the mug.
And the VS Birthday design you showed in your last post. I just love that and can't wait to hear all about the retreat too.
