WIP Wednesday

Stitching progress has slowed this week due to an increase in walking time. It seems every few days or every other week I switch up activities that take up my free time. Last week I stitched more, this week I'm walking - at the gym as the weather is hot again.

But August (Joyful World SAL) is coming along.

The larger hydrangea was lots of fun to stitch! Some people don't enjoy stitching the lazy daisy stitches, but I like the variety. Should be finishing this one up soon.

Flosstube videos seem to be all the rage right now among stitchers, so I've been catching a few. It has been kinda fun to have on while stitching. I've seen a lot of project bags, which I love as there are so many beautiful fabrics out there to choose from.  But lately I've been using something else to corral supplies for each project.

Scrapbook project cases. I love them. They stack nicely on a shelf or easily fit side by side in the pretty shopping bag that's next to my chair. They frequently go on sale, or you can use a coupon that Michaels always has. Best of all, you open them up on your lap (or on the table next to you) and you have two shallow trays to keep your supplies close at hand. These are especially great if you're flying!

Yes, it looks a bit of a mess, but it's easy to pick through to grab the floss I need and it's contained! Close up the case, pop it into the bag of projects, clean up all done at the end of the stitching session.

The case shown above on my lap is a smaller box I bought at a Daiso Japan store over in Seattle, a great size for smaller projects. If you ever get a chance to browse through a Daiso, you should! So much cute stuff! Here is a link to the box I'm using here.

Just thought I'd share my current organizational triumph, lol! If you have one, please share it with me in the comments!

Looking good Von - what a good idea for your project storage too.

That's a good idea for storing your projects. If I had to make a project bag for all of them, I would have no time to stitch,I'm slow at making things like bags and pillows!.

Von thanks for the project storage idea. I will be flying to visit my son over the Christmas holidays and as i have several "furry grandbabies" at their house, this will be a safer container for both them and my project.

I enjoyed this lazy daisy stitches, too. Your August looks great! I like your organization boxes. I wish I liked stitching with hoops, it would make storing projects so much easier. Scroll rods just don't fit!

You are almost there with August. I am pretty much a one at a time stitcher, so the project bags I have work well for me.
