April Robin from Button-Up Birdies 3 by Cathy Jean for Victoria Sampler |
My other robin project I'm a little more ambivalent about. One part of me enjoys watching the robin parents take care of the babies - the other part gets tired of the mess. This year, so far, they haven't been as messy as previous years, so o.k.
The three eggs have hatched and the babies have grown enough so we can see the open beaks over the edge of the nest now. Next we'll hear their peeps when Mom comes back with a morsel of food.
Well, I've been out for a walk, done a few errands, finished a xs project, and written a blog post before mid-afternoon. For me that's pretty good! Hope your day is even more productive!!

You are having such a productive day!! I love the robin finish. The beads do make such a nice finish.
Cute robin finish. Great job on it.
Wow, you're in good shape with the garden! We are still getting there. It's so nice to see nesting birds. We have a bushtit nest and maybe some chickadees but nothing like your robin that you can see so close up!
I like your robin finish!
Love your April Robin! Your robins are so different from ours here in the U.K.
I love your Robin finish!
LOVE the beads. The yellow reminds me a bit of forsythia, which I like.
We had a robin build a nest on the top of our door frame. Same thing - the birds and babies are cute, but the gigantic mess? Not so much.
How adorable!! I love that finish...
We have problems every year with robins attempting to nest in my wreath of my front door. Last year they actually succeeded--oh what a mess, but it was quite a great photo :)
Oh, so lovely, your finished bird piece. I love it.
Nature is already very far where you live. Here the birds are just compiling their nests. It's years that we had a nest on a beam under the roof edge. The following year the birds tried to make a new nest there but it was a very windy time and they didn't succeed and built it somewhere else.
Oh my, what a lovely little bird Von! Love it!
