Deadheading

Friends, with all those roses blooming, you know what has to come next - the deadheading.

Currently I have 75 rose bushes, so that's a lot of time in the garden, but as a sunlover, it's a chore I don't mind. And removing the spent blooms just makes way for new ones!

Spending so much time outside means I haven't been stitching. Sigh. Yesterday I didn't even garden. Nope, instead I drove DH over to Seattle for an insurance agent meeting he goes to now and then. The hotel they meet at is right next to Southcenter Mall, so I whiled away the lunch hour shopping.  There's a nice Nordstrom's there - love Nordie's! I found a pair of shoes online I thought might work with my dress for my son's wedding next month. Lucky for me they had them in the store so I could try them on because I would have ordered too big a size. So another wedding chore marked off the list. DH met me at the mall after his meeting and that's when I stopped for lunch. He'd much rather have coffee with me than shop with me. Does your spouse enjoy shopping with you?

But now I'm back outside, deadheading once again. And enjoying the warm sunshine!

75 rose bushes! What a beautiful sight that must be. Do you have a favorite?

Glad you found the shoes you wanted for your son's wedding.

My DH always gets a head ache or some other problem. Funny that they only occur when we are shopping. Your roses are magnificent! Bet you are glad to get those shoes! I remember going through that several years ago.

75 roses bushes?!!! That's awesome. I can't imagine. I thought I had a lot when I had 2 dozen at our previous house! But it is magical to see them and enjoy some of their blooms indoors!
