Cleaning Up In the Garden

The calendar may say that today is the first day of spring, but around here tomorrow, March 21, is the first day of spring. That is my daughter Melanie's birthday AND the first day of spring - it's just how it is. And my birthday is the first day of summer on the 21st of June. We're hard-headed that way.

And with spring arriving tomorrow, the weather has been nicer and the roses are starting their new growth and really need to be pruned back. Leaves have been blown into all the nooks and crannies needs to be picked up, dead growth from last year needs to be pulled out . . .

and I now need to sit in the hot tub!

I always thought the fist day of each season was always on the 21st.

Yardwork - that's what we have done during the whole week, and we would even be doing it today but it's raining. It was worth the effort as the garden is already looking great and the plants are growing without being covered with old leaves, lol.

I worked in the yard just before we left, I know how your body felt!
