I Think That Was March!

I changed up my header picture to more accurately reflect what's been happening here in Paulsonville. Track season has landed and we had 3 track meets this week. Too bad the weather was the opposite of the sunshine in the header pic from last year. This week my mission is to go out and purchase a stadium seat - I really need a seat with a back when sitting in the bleachers for  5 or more hours! One of those portable propane heaters would be nice too, and I think I should throw in a great big umbrella.
Spring sports so far this year have been windy, cold and wet.

Such a far cry from my surroundings in the middle of March! Gary and I flew off with a bunch of other local business owners for a week of sun and fun on the Mexican Mayan Riviera, just south of Cancun. The Aventura Resort and Spa is a gorgeous all-inclusive resort and we had one of the best rooms at the resort - on the very end of the property looking out over the jungle and the surf. What a treat to wake in the morning to a gorgeous sunrise over Cozumel off in the distance, cruise ships coming in to port over there, and drinking my first coffee of the day on the deck taking in all the beauty and warmth.

We did a little touring of the Mayan ruins in the area, Tulum and Chichen Itza, in addition to a good bit of relaxing and two massages at the spa. Plus we met up with several of our tablemates from last year's cruise, adding a party element to the vacation too! So nice to get away, but next time we'll have to arrange to stay a few extra days as I just was not ready to come back home!

At least we came home to some good news - our oldest daughter will be giving us our 5th grandchild this fall! She's a bit more tired than she was with her other pregnancies, but she has a lot on her plate these days - she's allowed. So hurray! Another sweet baby to cuddle coming along soon!

So that's my March. Spring break is this coming week, with a track meet on the 7th - we get a break! And time to pray for better weather.
