Oh So Merry

We were 22 for gift opening and dinner on Christmas Day, a very jolly day for all of us. It's such a joy to see all the cousins having fun together, all of us enjoying the little ones, Hans, 6, Jaeger, 4, and Ilse, almost 2.

The morning always starts with our special Christmas coffee, pots and pots of it, and loaf after loaf of my cinnamon swirl bread as we wait for everyone to arrive for gift opening. Finally we cram ourselves into the living room and the festivities begin, one gift at a time.

Having everyone together is quite enough Christmas for me, but my children did give me a Capressa burr coffee grinder which I've wanted for quite awhile. And dd Mystie made me a lovely crocheted stitching set!

Jim and Paula brought little Chloe, the poor puppy who was abandoned, but ended up in the best home. She is growing so quickly, now scampering all over and even made an attempt to climb the stairs. Her antics kept us entertained all weekend, until the Boise Paulsons left on Monday.

Slowly I'm getting caught up on my blog reading and love getting a glimpse into Christmas at your house!

Wow, I love the stitching set that Mystie made. I am very impressed! Did she make up the pattern herself?

It sounds like a wonderful day, Von, full of family. Just as it should be. I love the set your daughter did for you, and it warms my heart to hear about the puppy finding a good home. :)
