Hood River Excursion

Last week DH and I were able to get away to Vancouver, Washington, for an overnite trip sponsored by one of the insurance companies our business carries. The main event was a golf tournament, but for us non-golfers, they planned a little trip up the Columbia River Gorge to Hood River for a wine tasting tour.

Mt. Hood was a glorious backdrop to the lovely late summer landscapes we drove through.

Lunch was served at this little winery. One of their wines was a delish pear wine, two bottles of which came home with me.

With all the new school year busyness, it was nice to get away with DH and leave the family at home, just for a little while. :)

Looks like a lovely weekend. I've always wanted to try pear wine. Is it as good as they say it is?
