Grandkids, Stitchin' and Stuff

Today the weather is definitely a spring mix! The wind is blowing which keeps the fronts moving right along. Mystie stopped by after a trip with the kids to the library to get some freshly milled flour and the kids had a bit of lunch. We sent the children out the door, away from the television. They have no tv at home, so when they are at Nana's they think they need to catch up on the kid shows. In the winter Nana is more apt to indulge them, but not today. :)

Hans and Jaeger were soon on the fort. Now that they're bigger I think the fort will be seeing more action! Looks like we need a new bucket. The kids use it to pull stuff up to the fort, like games or lunch.

I had to run out on them for a bit to take Kevin and Kyle their lunch. You see we ran out of bread yesterday and I didn't get around to baking more. They prefer sandwiches for lunch, so this morning after seeing them off to the bus, I baked a batch of bread, cooled off a loaf in the refrigerator, made up their sandwiches and delivered them right at lunch time. Yeah, I kinda cater to them a little, lol. Sometimes.

Wednesday night DH drove up to Liberty Lake, near Spokane, to attend a class today given by Safeco. That was after attending IT Day here in Kennewick, talking with vendors, and having lunch. He invited me over to the convention center for the lunch, and I can't turn down lunch out with my DH, can I? The speaker was the editor of Fast Company Magazine and thank goodness he was interesting to listen to. We saw a couple of our kids over there too - DH has thoroughly inculcated a technology culture in the house. That and the freebies are pretty cool too. :)

Then since DH wasn't home in the evening, I sat down to my stitching, picking up the retreat projects I had started.

I finished the stitching of the pinkeep, but will come back later to sew on a charm. Then I went to the scissorcase. Stitching with that silk perle stuff is tricky. What I've learned from Thea on that is to not let the fiber twist too much while you're stitching or you don't get the coverage you want from it. Not always easy to do. The effect is nice though and well worth the effort.


Guess it's time to start preparing dinner. The twins have a track meet tomorrow, last of the season, and they'll want spaghetti. They'll have had a good carb load today with pancakes for breakfast, sandwiches at lunch, and spaghetti for dinner. :)
