What a Day

After all the complaining everyone has done this spring about the weather, in spite of a few very nice days granted us now and then, this weekend is Perfection. The sun is not too hot, the sky spotted with white puffy clouds. The gently wafting breeze waves through the weeds that have grown knee high, mocking me with their presence.

What's a gardener to do? Get out there and weed of course!

And what a pleasure it is to get down into the dirt. I'd really like to be planting, but first things first. Along with the weeding, I've fertilized the lawn. The rose fertilizer has been hauled out of the garage as well, so I'll soon be going around the garden with that.

Where's everyone else in the family? Well, DH is finally at the office after hauling boys around to their various jobs. The twins are now at a friend's house engaged in an air soft gun battle. Brendan is waiting for his girlfriend to be ready to go out to see a movie and get something to eat. Melanie came back home from the gym and then she picked up Kirsten for me after spending the night with friends.

Mothers' Day plans? Um, well church in the morning and I don't know what the afternoon will bring. All I really want is for the kids to do the dishes. That, and enjoy the sunshine, do some stitching and watch some of that Deadliest Catch marathon Discovery Channel is featuring tomorrow! :D
