Reentry

After a fun day of travel, I'm back home again, getting back into the swing of things. Original plans of returning with Kathryn and Nancy changed when Nancy's husband was admitted into the hospital on Thursday and she hurried back to Redmond to be with him. Kathryn (from Surrey) went with her to Surrey and the U.S. border, then brought her own car back. Dear Jo-Celle from Aberdeen, WA, went far beyond the call of duty and friendship in taking me from Port Angeles, across the Kitsap Peninsula, onto another ferry across the Puget Sound and down to Nancy's home to pick up my SUV. From there I stopped in Issaquah for a snack and a box of Krispy Kreme donuts to take home to the fam. No Victoria souvenirs - just donuts.

They love donuts.

I love to stitch. But I have another love. A love I have denied for too long. A love for shoes.

These fun, funky shoes were on sale in the shoe store next to the Button & Needlework Boutique in Victoria. On sale!!! Add 20% savings to the sale price once you make the dollar conversion and I quickly snapped them up. They are soooo me!

Back to stitching. Thea designed a winner for us this year with a beautiful etui and needlework smalls. I started the scissor case.

And the pinkeep.

And the hardanger heart ornament that will go on the front flap of the etui.

Here's a picture of the project partially shown. For more, go here.

It was an awesome time away with friends old and new. Guess you won't be surprised that I signed up for the retreat next April. I cannot wait!!
