Dyeing and Hunting

It's now a tradition. Egg dyeing at Nana's, then a hunt. Usually it's held the day before Easter and the uncles hide the eggs, but this year due to illness, tradition had to be postponed till yesterday morning.

As I was boiling the eggs and thinking about the kids coming over, and the mess there would be in the aftermath, I thought, "Man, no one ever did this for me! As long as I've had kids I've had to deal with dyeing eggs." Of course, we don't live near either set of my kids' grandparents, so that's just the way it was. And look what I'd miss out on if we didn't make this mess together.

No question - it's worth the mess.

One mess I haven't gotten to yet is out in the yard and garden. But where would we hide the eggs without all the leaves and long grass?!

We all had a great time and Mystie took three very tired children back to their home. She gets to deal with the teething, diapers, and naptimes. Believe me, it took far less time for me to clean up. This nana gig is pretty good. :)

Oh what beautiful children and pics. We do the egg dyeing here too at my home. My grandchildren would think it strange if I didn't dye the eggs. I love it though, we have so much fun.
