Yesss! At O dark 30 in the morning, I'm leaving home on the first leg of my journey to Victoria for the Victoria Sampler Spring Retreat! Starting off the trip all by myself to Redmond, Washington, where I'll meet Nancy. We'll leave together from Redmond, driving to Surrey, B.C. to meet up with our friend, Kathryn. From there we'll take the ferry across to Vancouver Island and drive down to the hotel in Victoria. Quite an itinerary, and I'm sure to be exhausted at the end of the day and just as sure to have an awesome day with friends.
I was privileged to attend last year with Connie, but the poor thing is flying with her family to Maui for a well-deserved vacation on the warm, sandy beach right outside the door of her timeshare. Don't you feel sorry for her? :D We'll miss you Connie, but are consoled that you'll be regenerating your batteries and having lots of fun - without us.
Awhile back the retreat supplies came in the mail and I spent some time last night separating the fibers and stitching the linen to my scroll frame. But first I had some fun with my punches, cardboard and paper scraps to make up some thread holders.
And here are all the threads at home on the holders. I'm really liking them - much more fun than plain white thread drops. :D
O.k., well I really have to scadoodle to do the last bit of packing. I'll be bringing my laptop, in case I have a few minutes for an update. Catch ya'll later!!
