Super Bowl Stitching

Sunday was such an enjoyable day for me and DH. We started out with a nice brunch at the hotel, enjoying the view of the beach and many cups of coffee. Then we did a little driving/geocaching. This time of year you can drive the entire beach at Ocean Shores! I was a little skeptical of driving DH's car out there, but the beach is much flatter than at Long Beach, so the sand is well packed right up to the access road.

At 11 a.m. DH had a meeting to attend so I settled into our room to stitch and catch up on email/blogs/Facebook, while watching a bit of tv, House and then Failure to Launch. Just before kickoff we went out to join the gang for the Superbowl. There were a couple of huge Steeler fans so the excitement was high, especially in the fourth quarter. I found a comfortable room with a good light so I could stitch and watch the game, then go out a be sociable every now and then. :) Things worked out well - great game, food, people, and stitching!

Unfortunately, I did catch a cold from my kids which hit me on Sunday, so after taking some medicine I slept in until 9 a.m. Monday, and we didn't get back to the restaurant for breakfast. Not being that hungry, we packed up our gear and headed out for some more geocaching on the way home.

How many times have I driven down Highway 12 and didn't know that just a minute away were these little treasures?

Say hello to the very top of Mt. St. Helens!

Hi Von,

I've enjoyed sharing your travels
through your blogging words and
pictures. I was especially
interested in the picture of Mt
St Helens, looking quite flat and
covered in snow. I really like
your photo of the little log cabin
too.

Quaker Study is looking beautiful
in your latest picture too. I
like the addition of the black
thread, which is a nice focal
point and makes the motif it's
in pop. This is a very pretty
design.

My DH watched most of the Super
Bowl on Sunday, and I caught
some of it too. We're not big
football fans here (this is
Canada, we prefer our contact
sports be played on ice) but
even in our limited experience
we could see that it was a good
and exciting game.

It's going to be -20 celsius
tonight, not counting wind chill.
On Monday the local ground hog said we'll be getting six more weeks of winter.

Miserable little rodent!!!

Hope your cold didn't turn out to
be too bad and you're feeling
better.

Cheers!
