On Friday morning, the stitching retreat began. Our room was on the top floor of the hotel with views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the gorgeous Olympic mountain range on one side and the harbor on the other. Great light, but a definitely warm in the afternoon.
Upon entering the room, we immediately got a taste for how the entire retreat would unfold - great gobs of gifting going on! Thea assembled gift bags to greet us full of designs and goodies to delight any stitcher.
Then as we were organizing our threads for the retreat project, Thea handed out the gifts that some of the gals brought to treat all the stitchers. It ended up being quite a little stash on its own. Especially remarkable were the tiny, airline-endorsed Japanese scissors brought to us from Japan by Tomoko, and the sweet beaded scissor fobs that Connie made.
Oh, you'd like to see the project Thea designed for the spring retreats? All you mermaid lovers prepare yourselves for . . .
Simply amazing!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time on your retreat. Isn't Victoria a beautiful city? Did you get to walk through any of the lovely gardens while there? The little shop you ate at looks like it had some great food. I have wanted to go back to Victoria (haven't been in almost 20 years) and visit the little Button shop you visited. Was it as great as the photos?
Amazing!!
I love that mermaid stitching set. You are right. I am drooling. Any chance this pattern will be for sale any time soon?
Great gifts! That mermaid set is stunning!
OMG, Thea outdid herself with this project! Goodness!
