Another Birthday and Easter

Whew! I made it through the weekend in one piece, although my head still feels congested and like I'm in the clouds.

Friday was dd Melanie's 20th birthday and we had all the gang over, including her bf Daniel, for pizza and cake. It was a fairly quick party as everyone soon scooted out to attend Good Friday service at church. (I stayed home with my tea.)

Saturday afternoon we colored eggs with Kirsten, Hans, and Jaeger. This year neither of the boys drank the dye. :D

Ilse was quite happy to sit in her carseat and watch her brothers.

After the eggs were dry and some cool monkey stickers were decorating the eggs, Papa and Uncle Geoff hid eggs, including some plastic ones with candy and coins, out in the yard. We were blessed with nice weather Saturday, whereas Sunday's weather was decidedly overcast and cooler.

The boys enjoy the egg hunt and all the rest of us enjoy them and their enjoyment of the hunt. :)

I think next year we're going to have to have the hunt in the back yard where there are some more difficult-to-find hiding spots.

Later in the evening I remembered that the boys needed some new clothes/shoes for Easter Sunday, so I grabbed Brendan and Kyle and headed down to Kohls where we found some good deals, but still managed to spend a good chunk of change. We arrived, shopped, found what we needed, and got out in about an hour so the boys had no complaints about the expedition. And I have $40 in Kohls dollars to spend on myself (plus some, I'm sure) this week.

Sunday we attended church service, of course, then spent a nice afternoon with our family enjoying a ham dinner. The Winckler contingent were not with us, but the other six were and provided lively conversation and much laughter.

In between some of these activities, I started working on Vonna's NRR, which should have been done much earlier. Oh well, I'll just plug away on it this week and post some progress pictures to show you later. The color of the house changed from what I had originally begun using as it just didn't look that great on the fabric. Sometimes these things just don't become apparent until you've begun stitching, especially when you're not feeling well. :)

I hope your Easter weekend was fun. Once again, I've fallen behind on my blog reading, but I'll be plugging away at it and catch up with you all real soon!

Great pictures of the children on their Easter egg hunt! It sounds like a wonderful Easter weekend, except for recovering from a nasty cold. It hit our house a month ago...and it was an awful one.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures, Von! The boys really remind me of Pelle, but that may have something to do with their haircut?

Hope you get your head out of the clouds soon!
