Mixing It Up

We've been out of sandwich bread for a couple of days, so this morning I had my mission - bake the bread. I'm really looking forward to my lunch this afternoon, fresh wheat bread and leftover corn chowder!

Hedgehog Quaker by The Workbasket

I'm sure you've seen lots of SBs (stitching bloggers) displaying this little cutie in all kinds flosses and colors. Mine is stitched in Silk 'n Colors Woods of Gold that was in my stitching drawer real handy.

The Workbasket freebie

Here's another little freebie pinned to my bulletin board. I like to pin some of my finished stitching onto the board so I can enjoy it until finishing inspiration hits me.

On today's to do list is picking up ds Geoff's new bed and delivering it to his soon-to-be home. A friend of his bought a house a few months ago and he's decided he'd like Geoff to room with him. So Geoff has been slowly moving his things over and shopping around for a couple pieces of furniture that he needs.

I teased him that he's going to miss the dog when he moves out. :) To which he responded that he can just stop by to visit Fritz on his way home from work every day. It'll be different around here with him gone, but our kids reach a point when it's time for them to live more independently. And really - we can use the space!

I love both of your little freebies! Umm, I can smell your bread baking! To me there is nothing better than fresh, hot bread and some butter. The corn chowder sound wonderful, but I don't think I have ever eaten any.

Nice stitching Von!
Of course you make me think of Sean when you mention Geoff. I'm wondering what his near future will be like. He's looking for housing for his senior year.

Mmmm, I love freshly baked bread too. although I haven't made any for a while. Haven't had the umph! I don't have a machine or mixer though, so it does take some energy!!

Bon appetit!=)

Ohhh, yummy, fresh bread!

I love your idea of pinning up your unfinished but stitched pieces - mine go straight into a finishing drawer and to be honest I haven't really got a clue what's even lurking in there anymore! I think I might just try this :)

Those are two great finishes!! You sound like my mom when I left for college, "we can use the room" she would say... my room became my dads office/retreat and after he passed it morphed into an extra bedroom. But my sister told me later after I had really left (my dad took drove me to school) her bravado fell apart and she was weepy for a couple of days. I am the oldest and was the first to leave for college.

I've always loved that little hedgehog! Your colours look great.
It does seem strange at first when the kids start leaving but I seem to have adapted just fine!
