In Which We Have a Most Unusual Sunday

Yes, a most unusual Sunday indeed! For beginning on Saturday evening we received an icy coating of freezing rain, a good one quarter inch of ice on the windshields of the cars and thicker on the roads. Then this morning the snow began to fall, and fall, and fall, and is still falling now at 6 p.m. with 6-12 inches having accumulated! Very unusual. Even more unusual is that today's snowfall on top of the ice caused the cancellation of church services! At first I thought that we are certainly not of the hardy stock of our forebears, but as the morning wore on and the snow fell even harder, I was thankful that we did not have to go out today.

The result of a quiet snow day is that I finished Rob's NRR!

This design is an amalgam of two designs. The house is taken from the March/April 1985 (!) issue of Just Cross Stitch, "Cadle Creek - Studio View"by Barbara Noel. The lighthouse is a design by Maureen Doherty in the March/April 1992 Cross Stitch and Country Crafts. Rob's assignment of stitching a seaside theme was harder for me as my stash does not contain anything along those lines, so I'm grateful that some of these old magazines survived previous stash purging!

For someone who doesn't have a seaside/lighthouse stash, you sure did make an excellent choice! It's lovely.

Von... your addition to the RR is fantastic! How clever to put the two designs together, and make it uniquely your own.

And snow? At least it looks pretty from the inside! Glad you were able to stay home and not be out in it. :-)

Enjoy the day!

You did some wonderful stitching on this RR. Very good how you mixed these two designs. No one would ever no it if you hadn't told.
Can I please have some of your snow ?:) Yes, we have snow as well....but I want MORE ... and new white one ;)

Wonderful RR -- sorry to hear of all the freezing stuff & snow. Blek.

We have 40 degrees with 40mph wind. And rain. It is sorta bleak. Tomorrow, it turns to snow and back to zero with -25 wind chills. double bleak. : (

Some of that snow actually looks like chair cushions/pillows, don't you think?
