Holiday Cleaning

An empty room with clean carpet is a good thing! I determined that before the Christmas tree could go up, the carpet had to be cleaned, so that's just what happened Monday. Of course, all that stuff from the living/dining areas had to be relocated, so that hampered movement around the house all day. No matter, the carpet looks new again (except for that coffee stain that we won't go into here, sigh). This morning the furniture went back in, and I'm going to be careful about the junk that goes in - at least for awhile. :) With eight people living here, the junk piles up fast!

My new kitchen buddy arrived the other day. Meet my new friend: Nutrimill
The grain mill I used last year was killed in an act of total oblivion and negligence on my part. With my Bosch mixer and grain mill side-by-side, I dumped the water intended for the mixer into the hopper of the mill. They're very similar looking and my mind was obviously elsewhere! That I could do such a stupid thing traumatized me for months and I couldn't consider buying another mill. But the holiday baking season is here, I realized that duty calls and cinnamon bread must be baked. I can't wait to get baking again!

The U.S. has had some awful weather the last few days and I hope all my friends who've had to endure it have come through safely!

Cleaning?! Now that's a novel idea. I'll have to give it a try in a month or so. ;)

Rug cleaning? Awesome-wish someone would volunteer here since I have a machine. ; )
I did a similar thing with my smoothie maker, but I unscrewed the top while there was still liquid in it (who invented that?) and it poured into the motor. And yes I did buy a new one.

I'm with you when it comes to decorating...the house has to be spotless and everything tidy and put away first. Then I can truly appreciate all the festive decorations.

We don't have any more carpets here due to Daphné's allergies and-except for their lovely feel under my toes- they're not regretted! Lol!!!
Lovely stitching there, Von!
When can I come for tea and delicious home made biscuits? Lol!
Take care,
Lili

Wow! You're an industrious woman! Hope your Christmas decorations go up quicker than mine have. I'm still buried in boxes.

Enjoy your new Nutrimill. The thought of fresh baked cinnamon bread sounds heavenly. :-)

Cute snowman!

you got a kitchen buddy & I got a new Oreck. It isn't quite what I had in mind; however, when the sweeper goes on the blink, it has to be replaced.

Keeping my fingers crossed you can get your house spic-n-span this week to enjoy the holiday parties & get togethers next week!!!

Blessings : )

Mmmmm... cinnamon bread. I'm glad that you broke down and bought a new mill. You bake so much that you have to be missing it by now. :)

Good for you! I love to have my house all clean before I put up any christmas, but if I wait this year it just won't happen. Your new mill looks fab- I think I have ot go back something.

So nice to have a fresh start. Congrats on the carpet and the mill. The ice is piling up on everything here today hoping the electricity stays on.

It often feels a shame to put the rest of the stuff back in, doesn't it? It seems so spacious without!!!!!!
