50!

Yep, today I am fifty years old. How in the world did that happen so quickly?! The years do seem to pass ever more quickly, surely at some point they slow back down again? How fondly I think back to my childhood and those summer days that seemed to last so long, especially my birthday which is the longest day of the year. . . in this hemisphere. :)


It's been a pretty quiet day, but very enjoyable. I've ferried dd to VBS and back and spent the afternoon at my sewing machine, piecing fabric for my section of a crazy quilt Christmas tree skirt that the smocking guild is making for a fund raiser. Now for the fun part - embellishing! DH came home in the afternoon with a bouquet of flowers for me. Later we discussed going out to dinner, but I asked him to bring me home a big hamburger from Zips and we ate together out on the patio at home.


Now look at this little bit of darling stitching! Yep, Carol's been at it once again, sending this lovely fob to me for my birthday. Of course, I immediately found the perfect pair of scissors to adorn with the fob! The design is Nature's Alphabet I stitched on Vintage Country Mocha Belfast linen. Mmmmmm, it's beautiful. Thank you so much, Carol, for making this a very special day!



And lest you are feeling just a tiny bit sorry for me that nobody threw a big party for me (which I really don't want) . . .

On June 30, DH and I are driving to Seattle for an Alaskan cruise on the Holland America Line. I think that's enough of a celebration for anyone!
