Ocean Shores Weekend

It's a bit dreary here at the beach, but I'm not one to turn her nose up at a weekend away from the routine at home! DH and I are here for a Specialty Auto Insurance Agents meeting/SuperBowl party. Our room here at the Shilo Inn is great with a separate sitting area complete with a cozy electric fireplace, balcony with ocean view, tiny kitchenette, and THREE televisions, lol!

It took us about six hours to drive here from Kennewick, taking the route over White Pass, the two-lane highway rather than the interstate route. The roads were damp or dry and we even had some bright sunshine while driving over the pass. However, once on the western side, the clouds piled up and by the time we got to I-5, the rain was upon us. The wipers on the rear window got a workout - I'm so proud that I remembered to turn it on as it's not needed at home!

This morning is delightfully quiet and I'm trying to read a few blogs, but Newsgator is being s o o o o o s l o w . I may have to switch over to my stitching and try again later.

Monday the plan is to travel to the city and visit IKEA. My first visit there!

Dreary or not, the beach is still a wonderful place to be - I agree with you!

Good luck in Ikea ... it can be addictive! ;) Enjoy your time away ... that photo of the beach looks gorgeous - I love it with the waves crashing, Mum and I can spend hours walking on the beach when it's like that (as long as it's not hosing down).

Oh, what a view, Von! Hope you get lots of stitching time. And have fun at Ikea! There's one fifteen minutes from here. I have to force myself NOT to go every tim!

A weekend away, even with drab weather, is certainly very welcome! I hope you enjoy Ikea...and don't spend too much there, although I never seem to get away from there too easily.

THe beach sounds great even if it is grey out and a weekend away is ALWYS good :) Enjoy it!! Have a blast at Ikea ,too. It's sucha fun place to buy STUFF. I have never been to an Ikea in USA but , Patrick loves the free pencils and paper "yardsticks" that you get for free here. Also the hot dog and coke for 1.50 Euro is the best deal in Europe.

As a girl from Northern France, I do love a windswept beach. It actually moves me more than a perfectly blue sea, with a perfectly blue sky. I'm so glad you and your DH had a nice break :)

Without Ikea Seb and I would barely have any furniture - our furniture is either second-hand or from Ikea! ;) They have some lovely cheap fabrics too :)

Ahhh...I miss the beach! We should take a drive somewhere around here just for the heck of it.

I hope your weekend away was refreshing. The beach makes a lovely view.

I've only been to Ikea once many years ago. It is a fabulous store! Have fun!
