Knock On Wood

Well, it's Wednesday and we've had no more sickies in the house. Hurray!

The Pineapple Express that brought the Pacific NW this huge amount of rain, wind and warmth seems to have blown itself out. Today we have a beautiful blue sky and sunshine that makes the golden leaves simply glow.

I've been stitching away on my hardanger ornaments. One has been finished, a Victoria Sampler freebie stitched on white linen. I love this lacy design! Think I'll find a little snowflake or other charm to put in the center.

My little grandsons were here again this afternoon. Hans always wants to bake bread, but my freezer is stocked with bread so I suggested we bake some cookies - which went over very well with him! He gets to dump all the ingredients into the mixing bowl and turn the mixer on which he thinks is the best part. Jaeger just wants to be there when they come out of the oven. :) I put a couple of dozen cookies into a bag for Hans to take to the church freezer. With his corn allergy, we make sure that there are corn-free cookies so he isn't left out at fellowship time after church. Another two dozen are in my freezer and some in the cookie jar. They'll be gone before the weekend. Oh well. :D

Back to my stitching chair!

Ditto Wendy! Your grandsons will treasure these memories, I have these fond memories myself -with my grand dad-, and I cherish them.
Your ornie is a jewel, Von! I hope the person who buys it at the auction cherishes it.
Take care!

Oh, this is really pretty. Anything in the middle will be great.

My daughter is the baker in this household. I try not to bake b/c I don't need the calories!! If the boys are craving something, I make a cake with mix & icing in a can.

You are the best kind of Grandma. Your grandsons will remember baking with you forever.
Love your hardanger ornie- How do you get so much done? Amazing.
On Alexander's hair- You are right it is not to long- although I like it shorter- , but it stands strait up and is so uneven. Makes me crazy :-)

Beautiful Hardanger ornament and it will really suit a snowflake charm or something in the center to finish it :-)
