Monday Mutterings

Thank you, friends, for your congratulations and well wishes on my blogaversary! All of you are a big reason why I'm blogging, and actually doing more stitching than I have in years. :)

This weekend DH and I drove all over the area looking at this year's entries in the Parade of Homes. There were 25 homes and we made it to 23 of them in most price ranges, from the high $100,000s to $1 million. $1 million gets you quite a home here in the Tri-Cities, about 6,000 square feet and lots of high end appliances and finishes. I noticed a big trend back to darker woods and color schemes; while I appreciate their beauty, I wouldn't make those choices for myself. Several of the homes had wonderful views with large bedrooms and big gathering rooms which constitutes my dream house. They also have a big price tag, one I'm not willing to pay. Still, it's lots of fun to see all the new stuff, and I'm happy that DH will go along with me so we can discuss plans and ideas for our little home.

DD Mystie gave us the biggest news we've had for awhile. She and Matt will be parents again in early May! Yes, our third grandchild is on the way! Poor Mystie is feeling tired and yucky which brings back all those memories of my own early pregnancies. It's strange to be so happy and feel so bad all at the same time! Mystie's sister-in-law is pregnant with her first due in November, a girl; so for Winckler family balance, it would be nice if Mystie has a girl too. :) Mystie and Matt have stated a preference for boys tho - a large family of boys, lol!

DH got some more shelves up in the family room, ready for me to fill, and it will soon be time to start school. Better get dressed and ready for the day!

Congrats on the good news! And what fun it must have been to look at the parade of homes and get ideas to use in your own spot. Congrats on your blogiversary as well!

Von, I've missed you so much, and I've taken a quick view of what you've been up to. I love what you're doing in your backyard. How lovely! I enjoyed your description of the houses you saw. Our house is too big, but it's cheaper than buying a smaller, newer one, so here we sit. Anyway, I'm back into stitching and blogging.... thanks for a lovely visit to your blog!

Congratulations on becoming a third time Granny! What a special time! That is one thing I don't miss is feeling yucky with morning sickness (or all day sickness) Although my singles were much easier on the stomach than the twins...Whew...makes me green at the gills to think about it again...:o)

Oh yeah, let's not get into the twin pregnancy, lol! Not just green at the gills, but beyond exhausted all the time. It's amazing we get through these grand events. :D

WOOT! Congrats on the pregnancies. Feeling pregnant is ok -- remind them it gets better after month 3 [even tho some deal with morning sickness longer]

New shelves? You are the lucky one! My favorite shelf is above our bathroom door - I put all the 'stuff' up there & nobody sees it.

My! I find it very difficult to think of you as a grandmother, Von. This is a reassuring thought though: it means you don't have to be and look old to be one...
Happy blogaversary! Mine should be soon as well; Gotta check...
Hugs!

Hi Von, I came across your blog, and have enjoyed reading it. I see that we not only have cross stitching in common, but also having twins and homeschooling.

Congratulations on your soon to be new grandchild and your "blogaversary".

Congratulations on the upcoming new grandchild. Each one is so special. No I'm not a grandmother but do have 12 nieces and nephew most are grown now. They grew up too fast but still love them all. Also Congratulations on your 1st anniversary. I just started a week ago at the most so am new to this blogging thing.
