Finally, Stitching Pics

Hurray! UPS just delivered my computer and everything is right again in my world! My digital camera was also in the computer case, further hampering my ability to update my blog with stitching progress, without bugging my dh for his camera. He'd be more than happy to help me out with the loan of his camera for a bit, but I'd rather use my things that I'm comfortable with. I was able to do some blog reading and email over the long weekend using our extra laptop.

I'm just a few stitches away from finishing the Thistle Treat bag by M Designs. I ran out of one of the purples to fill in the very top of the thistle, but I did get the hemstitching done. Love the colors in this one!

Next, I moved on to my Stitch Banner which is my own adaptation of the Victoria Sampler seasonal banners that I previously stitched. I finished stitching the blue letters and the yellow flowers, but didn't have the proper color of green along with me to finish that section. The next section is hemstitching which entails lots of counting and I just didn't quite feel like tackling something that exacting. I've had difficulties on that portion before, lol! So I moved on to another VS project that Jenna sent to me: Blue Carnations.

What pure pleasure this one has been to stitch! More gorgeous colors and some new pulled stitches, new to me anyway. And I do enjoy pulled stitches! Just a few more minutes and I'll have this one finished too - and I'll finish it into a needleroll. I need to get my sewing machine out this week anyway, so I can work up both Blue Carnations and Thistle Treat Bag.

My finishing efforts won't hold a candle to the finishing fest Connie had over the holiday weekend. If you haven't already, visit her blog to see all the projects she finished!

Lovely work, Von. I hope you post pictures of how you finish each piece also! I love seeing how creative everyone can be, especially seeing as how I need help in the finishing department myself!

Blue Carnations is fun isn't it? I had a blast doing it for Thea...It's like painting with overdyes on the carnation! It's looking beautiful!

Hi Von: Delighted you blog is up and running. Aren't computers great?

What awesome stitching you have accomplished! The needleroll is delicious (well -- soon to be NR) -- the thistle (soon to be bag) - and the Stitch banner. Totally awesome.

You have been a busy stitcher : )

Enjoy your week-end

Yay, I'm finally able to pop over and visit ... it's been toooooo long :( Your stitching is awesome - glad to see the thistle overdyed threads seem to have lasted the distance - it looks wonderful :) And I totally adore the blue carnation one ... really scrummy colours and design :D You'll probably get your thistle bag finished before mine ... mine is still languishing in unfinished beauty until I drag the sewing machine out haha. Rightio, now I'm off to see what else you've been up to while my back's been turned ;P {hugs}

Everything is absolutely gorgeous. I really like your idea for doing a "Stitch" banner. I was looking at the Seasonal ones just the other day and thought they were very pretty.
