A Happy Dance for "P"

Here is "P" by M Designs. Stitched on 32ct linen (from my stash) using Thread Gatherer silk floss Honey Blues. I enjoyed using this floss very much, but really think these letters are more effective with a less variegated floss. So my next letter will be in variations on one color.

I was able to get a little stitching in last night while watching Elizabeth I on HBO, appropriately working on my Thistle project also by M Designs.

I felt like I totally earned my stitching and television time last night after my weed pulling marathon of the afternoon. I also sprayed much of the back yard and railroad land with Roundup. Of course, kicking around in the dirt stirred up my allergies, so I had to medicate myself last night and this morning. It's good to see some progress, however small, and perhaps this afternoon I'll spend some time in the front yard cleaning up some beds.

You managed to stitch after an allergy attack? You are unstoppable! My allergies drop me in my tracks!

Great projects. I love the honey blues on your choice of linen.

I loved the "W" you stitched for Mystie so much that I thought that maybe someday I would try to get my hands on the "R" for me-and now that I see your finished "P" I'm even more motivated to do so! I just wish I had free time to be able to stitch! Sometimes I wonder if that will ever happen again. I haven't even been able to read a book since Alana's been born. How do you and my mom do it?!? It looks beautiful!!

Good for you for getting that yardwork done - now if I could just motivate myself to do mine!

Glad you found time to stitch tonight (and watch TV!)

What a great finish, Von - I do like the variegation - it adds an even more delicate and intricate touch to the design!
Your thistle Treasure Bag is coming along very nicely as well :)

I do hope your allergies will be under control with the medication today! *Hugs*

Happy Dancing for your "P". I love the M Design letters. I used these for a wedding sampler for my niece - and used the Celtic Heart between their initials.

I hope your allergy symptoms get better!

Hi Von! The P is STUNNING!!! I love those colors! I haven't played with silk threads before...

Anyhoo...congrats on the weeding as well. I remember as a young girl having to do that at my grandparents house. Man, how I hated it!!!! The only positive aspect was that I would get a big huge slice of watermelon..or ice cream afterwards..LOL

Have a great day!

*Hugs*

The P looks beautiful, Von! I'm happy dancing with you on the finish. Looks like you will be quickly achieving another one with the thistle bag. Gosh, that one seems to stitch up quickly!

Speaking of thistle, I need to go out and work on my weeding this weekend. The thistle seem to really love the soil around here and they are a dickens to get rid of. Fortunately, Terry just bought a big sprayer and some Round-up concentrate so I won't have to mess around with the little bottle this year. Weeds, here I come! Can you hear the wild west duel music playing? Heh-heh.

Sorry to read about this allergy! This can be dangerous! I hope you're OK now!
Your thistle is so delicate, and the fabric is lovely!
Your P is great though I understand what you mean about variegated effect: that was a good try and I will remember this for my future stitching... However, it is still stunning! Besides, I am a little fed up with using plain threads... I am thinking of trying this freebie alphabet on passione Ricamo's site, have you seen it?

I was well inspired about the backyard finally...
Hugs!

Beautiful finish, would love to see in monochrome as you said. I hear you on the allergies, and the yard work. We'll have to swap pics as we get progress done.

Really lovely, Von. You've been busy! I've never used the Thread Gatherers threads, but I've been seeing it in more projects lately. After seeing "P," I MUST have some. How beautiful! I love M Designs, and the Thistle you're doing is another good one. Love the fabbie with the fiber colors! Happy Dances abounding for you!
