Another little project was started yesterday when I joined Cathy and Katrina in their Drawn Thread Spot SAL. This one is stitched on 36 ct linen, so that magnifier is coming in handy again! I'll be starting another SAL today with Jenna - woot! I haven't gotten this much stitching done, well, probably ever!! Thanks to all you stitchers and the daily communication and encouragement!
A recap of my February goals:
finish 1 more Grady gown - completed
finish Winter Banner - completed
begin M Designs - P - yes
SB Ornament SAL w/Connie - no, neither of us made any progress
With My Needle ornament SAL w/Friends Gather BB - completed
In addition I stitched Coeur Romantique.
And for March:
Smock 2 Grady gowns
Stitch Prairie Schooler ornament w/FGBB
Stitch Spot of Summer w/Cathy & Katrina
Stitch Banner w/Jenna
Finish hardanger emery for SAGA
I think that's good. I may sneak in something else that strikes my fancy, but we'll just see what happens this month. Now for the SBQ this week:
Today's SBQ was suggested by Cheryl and is:
What cross-stitch magazines or other publications (as opposed to
blogs) do you read on a regular basis? What do you like about them?
What do you not like? What would your perfect publication include?
I do not read or subscribe to any xs magazines currently. Years ago I did, but found I was not able to stitch many of the designs and they began to take up more space than I could justify. I do enjoy looking at them occasionally to stay current on new notions and designs, but the only one I've purchased on a regular basis the last five years is the JCS ornament issue. I suppose the internet has met most of my needs for staying current in the xs world and it takes up a lot less space in my home! Perhaps I should consider the on-line magazines, hmmmmmm.

Hi Von, you've made a great start to summer, so glad that you could join Cathy and I. I'll be working on my spot tonight :)
You got a lot of work done in February, Von. Your plans for March sound pretty daunting to me, as well, but I'm sure you will manage just fine!
I am impressed to see all those completed goals, Von! Well done! For the moment, I haven't given any try at a SAL (just discovered what it was) but I think I zap too much anyway...
I also wanted to say how much I love seeing that you come and comment on my blog everytime, and how much I appreciate your kind words. Thanks a lot!
Take care!
I love that ornament, Von!!! I kept re-reading that goal and accomplishment list and repeating to myself: "Her children are older; her children are older; her...." :)
BTW, how do you know Pasadena and OC? Are you a transplanted Californian? Or did you just spend a lot of years driving to Disneyland???
Woo hoo! I'm so glad to see your progress on Spot of Summer; it's looking great! I will stitch on Spring tomorrow - as you can see from my blog, I spent time on my Game Board Sampler tonight...
Woohoo, just a couple of posts later, and there it is ... finished! Your Star of Wonder ornie looks great!! :D
Great projects, Von. Isn't it great, getting all the wonderful online support & encouragement?
wow Von, great goal reaching. love the ornament :-)
Von your ornie finish is great! I feel the same way as you do about magazines, I don't actually learn alot from them. I find out so much online!
The ornament is very cute! Great job on your goals.
Hi Von,
I tried a translator today for reading your blog and sometimes the translation was really hilarious for me. Your stitching chair was made: choking (?)chair (getting no breath). But a few lines were a little clearer to me now. It's frustrating sometimes to know so many great English blogs, because reading them cost to much time...
The pictures on my blog are indeed of my own home. We enjoyed at last some snow this winter.
Hi Von,
Your ornie turned out really nice! Congrats on finishing it.
What a great start on your Drawn Thread sampler - nice!!
Hi Von,
Doesn't it feel good to actually complete things and reach goals?! Congrats! I am waiting on supplies--I am also planning on stitching the DT seasonal spots!
Hi Von,
I have the 2002 JCS too! Do you intend to finish Star of Wonder off as a pinkeep? Good choice.
You sure have been productive whilst I have none to show for this year. Am stitching on 2 projects though but since they are for exchanges, I can't share any progress pics.
Thanks for your comments on my blog. I really do appreciate it.
I like your goals system, Von, it really is a great way to motivate yourself, crossing those projects off the list and moving on to new ones. It is certainly something I will adopt probably over the summer months once Uni has finished, because I have a number of charts I want to work on and it will be great to look back and see what I have managed to cover!
I agree with you about magazines taking up so much space! I do love reading them though - I try to convince myself that as I don't smoke or drink, its my little bit of extravagance in life :-)
