Happy Birthday, Baby!

I know it's crazy, but here I am watching babies being born live on Discovery Health Channel. In fact, they just delivered a set of twin boys in San Diego by c-section. They showed us all the blood, fluid, scalpels, etc. I love this kind of thing. But when I was young, I just couldn't handle looking at cuts much less real surgery. There's no explanation for the change, except I became a mother and the entire process became fascinating to me; then those children get older, unfortunate events happen to them, and trips to the emergency room become necessary. I'm not the mother having hysterics in the waiting room! I'm right there wanting all the information. If it weren't for all the math and science, I'd be tempted to become a midwife or some such thing, lol! But instead, I'll be Dr. Mom here at home.

Haven't done any stitching since finishing my little Spring freebie. I'm not sure how I'll finish it, but am thinking I might try making it up as a pinkeep. I'll have to run to Hancock's for some pretty pins!

Though I can't watch the surgery type shows on TV, it doesn't bother me at all to see the babies-being-born shows. I guess because I've had three, whereas I was "asleep" through my only 2 surgeries.

Good for you, Von. I still can't stand blood so i'd rather skip the scene while both our children were through ceasarean.

Did I tell you I love your little Spring freebie? I forgot...sigh. As for shows on tv where they film births: I can't stand those, but not because of the blood and other gooey stuff: I can't stand all the screaming!
Pelle hasn't had any bloody accident happen to him, but knowing him, it'll only be a matter of time :o)

I'm not a fan of surgery shows, blood and gore, needles. But I do like seeing babies come into the world. My 'baby' was a c-section after 18 hours of labor. I would have liked to try again, but it never happened.

I love the idea of getting a new life in this world. But I'm not especially enjoying seeing a birth. My four experiences were enough. They were at home with only the midwife, my husband and myself (of course:-)). It was very intimate and I think that's why I don't look at other deliverys.

I like to watch those shows to remind myself exactly why I don't want to have another child...labor! :)

To be honest, I think what you are watching sounds interesting too! As long as it is not me in pain, I can handle it :-)

A pinkeep sounds a great idea!
I don't fancy those shows on TV, and at the same time, I am very moved when I see them... which might explain why I don't fancy them? Tears come to my eyes, don't know why. The parents are so happy, and the babies are entering the big struggle of life...
Sending you lots of hugs, and wishing you a great WE, dear Von!
