Friday!

It's almost here - Friday! After breakfast clean up, I'll pack of my Expedition and drive, all alone (heaven!), to Bellevue, near Seattle. The occasion? A meet up of the Northwest Victoria Sampler Cyberstitchers! My dearest friend, Connie, will be coming up from Olympia, Jo-Celle from Aberdeen, Nancy from Redmond, Kathryn from Surrey, B.C., and our designer, Thea from Victoria. Thea will be arriving on the Victoria Clipper ferry in the tomorrow evening and since I'll already be in town, I volunteered to pick her up at the pier and deliver her to the motel we'll be at for the weekend. Connie will be arriving about the same time Thea and I get back from the pier. We'll meet the others on Saturday at a nearby lns. The lns will be fun, but mostly we just wanted to get together, meet in person, and spend some time stitching and chatting. Too much fun, don't you think!

Well, the guys are walking their feet off over in Tokyo. June, I didn't ask Gary to buy me any fabric or other goodies. I think the main thing will be to bring home some Hello Kitty things for Kirsten! I have a couple of pics here of one of the gardens at the old Edo palace, and one of the hotel room DH is using. It's very basic. I'm not sure what they were planning to do today, but it will entail more walking I'm sure. I advised DH to begin taking some ibuprofen and continue taking it throughout the day, lol!

On Monday, if not before, I'll have a full report on my weekend. Hope all of you have something fun planned too!

Oh my! That sure is a basic hotel room! They must be having such a great time! Sooo far away! Hope you don't feel too lonely...

Basic??? I'd call that Camping!!! LOL! How much does a room like that go for per night???? Glad to hear that they are getting lots of sightseeing done!!!

Can hardly wait to see you tomorrow!!!

Lol! It is almost camping, Connie! There is a toilet just down the hall, then the men's shower is up a few floors. But the price is something like $35-40 US, which is pretty reasonable for Tokyo.

Have a great w/e! We just had a trip away too - but midweek when it's quieter.=)

I went to Tokyo about 7 years ago. Want to take my DH there too so he can see the contrast between that and Taipei in Taiwan where we met.

Updates on my blog by the time you get back!

Room actually is running us 2960 yen per room per night. There are 116 yen per dollar so little less than $26 for each of us.

All we do is sleep and type in the room so no need for much more.

Actually, you cannot see it but there is a fridge, TV, and airconditioner in each room. Don't need the airconditioner this time of year, don't need to watch Japanese TV, and have not made it to the grocery store for anything that needs to stay in the fridge - But on the 10th floor is a wonderful Japanese Bath - Hot Hot Water - A Jacuzi without the bubbles and turned all the way to High on the thermostat.

Have a great weekend, Von (BTW I've never realized before that you live in Washington state - I spent almost 2 weeks in Seattle in 1998 and I really loved it).

Basic hotel room, but at least it is clean!!!

I'd be a little claustrophobic in that room, but you can't beat the price. Women need more luxury, I think.
Can't wait to hear an update.
Have a great time with your stitching group.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend, Von...I'm envious! Make sure you post details when you get home. My aunt lives in Bellevue--I love it there!

I should have asked to have Hello Kitty stuff brought back to me too! ;)
