This afternoon I retrieved the mail from the box, usually one of the kids will get there before I do. The box was pleasingly full, and in going through the stack, I found a padded envelope from Jenna Magee - for me!! Inside was a lovely note from Jenna and Blue Carnations kit by Victoria Sampler!! She had received the needleroll already stitched in an exchange, so she sent me the kit from her stash. I had commented on her blog months ago about waiting too long to order this limited edition kit and she remembered! Isn't she just the sweetest!!
Thank you sooo much, Jenna! I will treasure these pieces all the more since they came from you!!
There was more excitement in the house yesterday. Kirsten and her Daddy went to their first father/daughter ball which was sponsored by Calvary Chapel. Kirsten's Grandma Aska bought her a new outfit for the dance last weekend when DH and kids went to Boise. She looked so very grownup! They both had lots of fun and saw lots of friends. Kirsten was eager to show me the yellow candy rose she received, as it matches the yellow in our kitchen and living room. She immediately grabbed a little vase to put it in and it's now displayed in the window sill over my sink.

Kirsten is so pretty! I love her smile! She looks very proud to be with her dad on the photo! Moments to treasure...
I think it's great your received such a beautiful present!
Take care!
How proud you must be, Von. Kirstie is just a little doll, and all dolled up in her new clothes, she just giggles with innocence and delight. What a sweetie! Don't let her grow up.
What a lovely gesture by Jenna sending you her Blue Carnations kit after receiving the finished needleroll. Isn't it fun having stitching friends?
How thoughtful of Jenna, especially with all she's got going on. She's a sweetie!
That's an adorable picture of your daughter and DH. Your daughter looks tickled pink!
oh my.. what a sweet young lady!
Hi Von! Wow! Those VS pieces are beautiful! You are so lucky to have gotten them in your possession! I love alot of VS things, but have yet to try any since I am a little scared to try out hardanger, and there seems to be alot of that in those projects. Kirsten is a beautiful young lady, I am sure you are very proud of her!

Kristen looks so happy in that picture and I like her outfit! :o)
Kristen was the belle of the ball! and obviously so proud to go there with her Daddy :-)
Von, I just love the latest Trunk Show photos - I had to go back through your blog entries to get to the explanation of what a Trunk show is all about - so now I am educated in something new.
In our village, one of our neighbours opens up his house on the Holiday Weekend in August. He invites all the crafters in the area to bring down their 'makes' from the past year and they get displayed on the walls in his house. Then you can sit and have a cup of tea and a piece of home-made cake made by his wife, chat to people about crafts and pop some money in the charity box on the way out. I always look forward to the event each August.

Even youngest ones grow up... Isn't it too bad??? But it's great she had fun with her dad.
It's always nice to know people are trying to be attentive. So that's great of Jenna. I have never made a needlerol, maybe I should try it some day...
Kirsten looks so lovely. Really a great picture of father & daughter, thanks Von for sharing it.
That's a very nice gesture of Jenna to share such a wonderful stuff. Hugs, Mylene
Hello Von,
Which Calvary Chapel do you attend? What a sweet picture of your daughter and husband. I love those memory making times.
I'm glad that it will be put to good use, Von. :)
I LOVE the picture of Kirsten and her dad. What a wonderful time they must have had together! There's nothing quite like those meaningful father-daughter times.
Aww, your dd is adorable :)
Aren't stitching friends just the best???
hugs :)
