A Winter Start

Do not attempt to start a new project when a sinus infection is beginning to hit you! I began stitching too far down on the fabric and as I was finishing the N, I realized my mistake. So I ripped out the stitches and put it down for the night. The next day I counted more carefully and began again . . . got to about the same point and realized I was off the center mark one stitch. Normally that wouldn't be much of a biggy, but on this design it is. So I ripped it out again! Last night, I began again and successfully placed all the letters properly. Yay! This is Winter Banner by Victoria Sampler from an exclusive cyberclass I did early last year. I'm stitching it on platinum cashel linen with Rainbow Gallery Splendor silk and Waterlilies in Cherry Cordial.

I thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts for my DFIL! He is continuing to do better and has been moved to the general medical floor. Gary talked to him on the phone for a long time yesterday and said he sounds 1000 percent better.

After using my computer yesterday, it became painfully obvious that the hard drive must be reformatted and all the software reinstalled. So DS Geoff has been put on the job! But all my homeschooling info and my other stuff has been safely copied. I'll be good to go again soon. And if not, maybe I'll have to put a little pressure on DH for a new laptop. Geoff bought himself one a couple of weeks ago and I've been trying very hard not to covet it, lol!

Yesterday was a day off, so I slept in till 8:30 a.m. After lunch, Kirsten had a play date with a new friend from homeschool p.e. I drove her over and ended up staying and enjoying a wonderful afternoon with the Fairchilds. Then I made my family a dinner they enjoyed (!) and stitched the evening away watching movies on the new movie channels we have on cable now. So much indulgence!! It was a wonderful day, lol!

Some days it doesn't rain but pour, Von. Hope after this, it will be smooth sailing - no more frogging, sinus nor comp hiccups.

Did you get my email on the school hols here in Malaysia? Just want to make sure as you were experiencing comp problems.

Oh my, such a nasty case of the frogs. I'm glad you kicked the ugly, warty boys to the curb. ;) I love the seasonal banners and will be watching your progress on this one with a lot of interest.

Sorry to hear that the frog came calling. I hope you are frog-free for the stitch-athon this weekend. I'll look forward to seeing your progress on this.

Sorry you had to practically stitch that 3 times but I bet it being a VS design it will be stunning when finished.

All that frogging Von... ack!! Glad that you have it right now and I will be following progress on it.

I hear you on that sinus front. Man that can feel one feeling very light headed and quite stupid!!

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my blog too...

Oh Von!!! I am just so sorry about you feeling unwell and then, to add to that, making the errors on your latest stitching project. I could have cried for you. My biggest bug-bear in life is going wrong in XS and having to unpick it. Its so frustrating!! But I am glad you are back on track. Stick with it, my friend. The end result will be even sweeter because of your efforts. Hugs Ali xx

I'm sooooo behind on blogs! A very belated "sorry" to hear you had such a rough time starting your winter banner - your perseverence will be worth it, though, it's such a lovely project :)
