Two Finishes!

Last night I was able to stitch the back of my DGS's first Christmas ornament. One day I'll get them ornamentified, probably just in time for next Christmas. I have also finished the second of the Shepherd's Bush Christmas ornament series. The pink that was called for was much too bright in comparison to the other colors, so I ripped it out and replaced it with the berry color from the vine. Much more cohesive!

Today's mail brought me the new Nordic Needle catalog. As much fun as it is to browse ONS, there are times when it's much more relaxing to sit with a paper catalog and a highlighter and dream of adding more stash to the collection. So every now and then, I will order from NN to keep those lovely catalogs coming to me. Hmmm, I wonder if they have any scissors on sale? It's been awhile since I ordered a pair!

What should I stitch next? I think I'll pull out my supplies for VS Winter Banner and get started on that! Once that is completed I will have stitched the entire set which would give me a very nice sense of accomplishment.

My DH made a quick trip to Boise yesterday to visit his dad who is in the hospital in intensive care. He just isn't recovering from his surgery and seems to be weakening. Scary to think that we may be losing him.

Your ornaments are beautiful, Von. I plan on making some this year and will probably spend some time ornamentfying them. LOL

I will keep your FIL in my prayers that he recovers. At least he is in a good place to get the attention he needs.

Sorry to hear about your FIL. This time of year can be really rough it seems with people being ill. Your SB finishes are lovely. I have lots of their kits--I need to pull something out to work on soon, I think. It has been a while, and I love the silks that come with her kits! This weekend my online VS class starts. I need to pull out my chart and make sure my supplies are ready. It is only a small cushion.

Dearest Von; Sorry to hear about Oscar! Hope he is able to rally and get well! We'll be praying for him!

The ornaments look great! The pink you used in the dress really is alot better! The original thread is not nearly the bright pink in the conversion chart. Don't know who picked those colors, but they are not that close! I will go through my DMC when I get home and give you some better numbers, unless you would like some of the weeks & GA?? Let me know if you want to change threads at this point.

Love you!
Connie

Wonderful finishes Von. These will be treasured ornaments I know. Have fun with the NN catalog. I don't seem to get them anymore since the move but that's probably a good thing!

First off, I am really sorry to hear that your FIL isn't improving. You have been in my thoughts this week, and I'm hoping for the best for all of you.

Your stitching is lovely - those SB pieces are so delightful! I also enjoy the NN catalog and the weekly newsletter. They seem like such nice, friendly people and their customer service is great.
