A New Project
Every year the Women's Ministries of my church hold a silent auction in November to raise money for missions. Every year I also think to myself, "Next year I'll smock a little dress for the silent auction!" Of course, so many of the things I'd like to do just don't seem to happen. But this year, having gotten my stitching room in better order (thanks, Vero!) and I've reorganized my fabric stash, I feel inspired to make up this sweet little bishop style dress. The pattern is found in Australian Smocking and Embroidery magazine, No. 47 - shown here on top of the fabric I've chosen to use. Bishops are fairly simple and quick to sew, and are absolutely adorable on little girls! And I believe it will be a well-received item at the auction.
My Autumn Banner is almost to the Happy Dance stage as I finished the blanket stitching all the way round. Next is the nun's stitch flap, apply some beads, then do a little jig.

I find smocking intriguing, but it looks so difficult. Have you done it before?
Your Autumn project is beautiful!
