Lake Paulson

Following Monday's efforts at filling in my garden hole, I put a sprinkler in the hole to wet it down and settle in the soil. You know, for 15 minutes or so. Of course, I got involved in preparing dinner and other evening activities and completely forgot about the sprinkler. After all, it's on the side of the garage, not in any line of sight from any window. Tuesday morning came and as I was piling kids into the van to go to homeschool p.e., I discovered Lake Paulson next to my garage! Thank God our soil drains really well - all those rocks and sand - so that the retaining wall held all night and into the morning. By lunch the level was down by half and by 3 p.m., it was completely drained. I think I'll have time this afternoon to work at filling the hole some more, after the mud has dried a bit more.

Stitching news: I completed the buttonhole stitch around my "Summer Banner" and now will do the nun stitch for the flap and attach beads and be finished!!

Seems to be a montly occurence! Last time, when the hole was deeper, we called it Kirsten's swimming pool.
