Weekend Fun

On Saturday while I was stitching and doing a few chores, I decided to take a break and do a little stitchy shopping. Closest to home is Michaels and I've been thinking about getting a lighted magnifier. After all those long dark days are coming and a little extra light is always welcome! With a 50% off coupon in my hand, I purchased an Ottlite magnifier. Then I drove over to Richland to Needful Needlecrafts for some Weeks Dye Works floss. I was also hoping that the GA Chalk floss was in, but no luck there. Seems the demand for Chalk is quite strong and the small shops are having a hard time getting it.

Saturday's Haul
I've really enjoyed stitching up the little Lizzie Kate "Grateful, Thankful, Blessed" and my plan is to stitch it again with the called for Weeks threads. Don't you just love those colors?!

There was no cooking for me Saturday evening as Gary and I had tickets at Frichette Winery for dinner and jazz with Chazzy Green. The guy plays a mean saxophone!

He also sang and got a lot of crowd interaction plus lots of dancing! We really had a great time and look forward to his returning to Frichette. I would love to hear more of his saxophone though - he was so good!

Sunday was a little quieter, church, watching football, choir practice, and preparing for ESL class. Oh, and a little stitching too! Love those weekends!

Hope yours was great too!

I like the portability of your Ott lighted magnifier. I'd love to hear how you like it. Chalk threads??? They sound yummmmmmy! I've got to go check them out, right now. Have a great week!

That looks like a nice magnifier.
Never heard of chalk threads, but they sound pretty.
You even see chalk colors on cars now!

I once had a magnifier like that, but I could never seem to get it adjusted properly and I gave up. Hope you have better luck. Mine was a cheaper version so maybe the Ott will behave better.

Fun night out!

Looks like a fun Saturday all day long!! Love your new purchases, especially the threads. I got a skein of Chalk online--I think with all those cute chalkboard designs out there is is a hot commodity :)

I love the sound of a great Sax. I listen to Jazz in the early morning or while doing housework. I love it. Those are beautiful colors. Monday always comes too quickly for me.
