Good Weekend

Deep in my heart of hearts I am a homebody. I can happily go for days staying right here on my small piece of earth, puttering around and putting a few stitches on the linen. But since buying out our partner, my time at home is so much less than I'm used to, and I really miss it.

Working at the office will probably consume more and more of my time for at least the next ten years, so I'm thinking that I'll have to make the office more of a home. Right now it looks much like it did when our business partner occupied the office and my plan this year is to move out the old and bring in some new and more personal things. I'm beginning to feel more comfortable there, understanding more of the business, making more contribution, and I want the office to reflect that.

The other goal is to get rid of as much of the stuff that my husband has such a hard time throwing out. So many old monitors, hard drives, cords, etc., etc., etc. His office and the storage room are scary!

But this weekend was a wonderful time spent at home. Saturday I got groceries and prepared to babysit the grandkids for the evening. I cooked dinner for them and prepared a craft to do with Ilse. Sunday after church, we had leftovers and I watched the Super Bowl. That right there is about as good as it gets!

I continued working on February for the Joyful World SAL, but it's going frightfully slow compared to so many others who are stitching along!

I'll keep plugging away at it. Maybe in my office redo I should set up a stitching station for those after hours times I'm hanging out with Gary!

Your office needs a stitching station for sure! I am a home body too. Your Sun. sounded wonderful to me. Ours was similar but unfortunately no grand children. We did do facetime with them earlier in the day. Just not the same as being able to give them a hug.

A lovely office with some of your stitching as well as a space to keep a little stash or projects would be awesome!

I am thinking you feel great getting rid of a lot of that old stuff lurking about the office. It will be nice to make your office "yours".

The Joyful World SAL is looking good. I have the same problem trying to get my husband to throw out things! I need extra space for my stuff! LOL

A stitching station sounds lovely. Sometimes we make progress a few stitches at a time and having it handy would be a great way to get a few stitches in.

Sounds like you've got a plan, Von! Now is a good time to do the clean-out and organizing a new space for your office since you will be spending more time there. I like that Joyful world SAL you are doing!

Hmmm, you think that's slow? You should see where I'm up to. It's looking great.

My stitching came to work with me - I did a little sampler to stick on the front of my diary, had ornaments hanging on my notice board and a stitched bag for some of my little office bits - you'll soon make it into your space x x great progress on February

As long as you can still make time to put some stitches in it dosent matter how slow you are, just enjoy what you can :-)
My office has no stitching, but then i am on a reception desk where i don't really think it would be appreciated (unfortunately)

Goodluck with the reorganizations...and happy weekend!

As Anne with an "e" would say, I'm sure we're kindred spirits. Our hearts are happiest at home, but sometimes we must take home with us...and we do.

There seems to be a lot of de-cluttering happening in your and your husband's office. So good for you to make your office more personal when you have to spend a lot of time there.
Joyful World is coming along great.
