Calling It Good

Yep, I'm calling Convent Garden by The Drawn Thread good, in other words quitting. Not because there's anything wrong with the design by the designer; the problem is entirely with me. And that is the reason I set aside this lovely design several years ago.

When I resumed stitching on it a few months ago, I had forgotten that reason, and I didn't really look at what I'd stitched. I just saw it, and resumed the stitching. And after finishing the center garden of the design, I unrolled more of the linen on the scroll rods, and it hit me.

I had not properly centered the design on the linen! Argh!

So this is as far as it goes.

And that's ok with me!

I do not know what it is supposed to look like, but this does look good.

I don't think I would worry at all about that.I would just finish it in a way that worked. It is too pretty to just give up on.

It does look so very lovely, such a delicate design.

I think most of us have done that at some time. I did it with a SAL last year and ended up starting again after the first 2 parts....

It's a beautiful design, with all the different stitches. Good you were able to resume working on it.

It's totally a gorgeous sampler Von and looks perfect. As for the centering on the linen - looks like you still have plenty border area for framing afterwards. Was that what you were describing?
love Annette

I just love this piece and am sad to see that you're giving up on it, Von... It seems like you have enough room for framing or you could just make a simple wall-hanging out of it if you don't?

I agree with you, Von. You can leave it like this, it is looking great and you never get the impression that it is not finished.

It looks great Von. If you didn't mention that there was more to it, I would have never known. :)

I think it looks very pretty as it and I certainly would not have known the difference!
