Thanksgiving 2014

Thanksgiving 2014 is in the books and it was another wonderful weekend with our extended family in Boise.

On our way into town, we stopped at DH's cousin's home for dinner with that side of the family.

Thanksgiving day we meet at DH's brother's home. My sister and her family come over bringing the pies and cookies. Four of my seven kids were able to join us in Boise, so the house is full of laughter and chatter.

Everyone has some sort of technology out, computers, tablets, smart phones. Football is on. Cookies are on the table nearby, coffee pot is full.

Good times.

Some of us did a bit of shopping on Black Friday, after all it was 65 degrees and gorgeous! My DH even went out and got a watch that syncs with his phone and gives him all the notifications and texts. He really needed something new to play with. :)

Saturday I opted to get out my stitching and watch more football.

Souvenir de France
Souvenir de France by Blackbird Designs was kitted up in a little project bag and was easy to grab and go. I had a little bag of sample silk threads in red, white, and blue which I thought would do nicely for this little design.

But I didn't get too much done . . . Indian Creek Winery was calling us for a tasting, followed by dinner with the gang at the best Mexican restaurant in the valley at El Gallo Giro. Kyle and Kip went to Boise State University for the game against Utah State and got dinner at the tailgate there. The rest of us watched the game at a little pub. Nice to watch the game while sitting next to the fireplace - warmth is good!

We have so much to be thankful for, and at the top of the list is the wonderful family we belong to.

Sounds like a wonderful family time.I agree a football game in a pub is the best! We did have a big Seahawks Thurs. evening. I had dinner at 4 so all was finished by game time.

So nice for you to get together with so many members of the family over the Thanksgiving Day and weekend. And you even got some stitching done. Sounds perfect to me.
