A Lovely Lull

It's rather quiet here. Package ribbons lie on the side tables, bits of wrapping paper hide under the couch, gift boxes await disposal. Relatives have returned to their homes. Now begins my favorite week of the year, the last week.

Not much cooking needs to be done as so much was cooked last week so I should be busy doing all that decluttering I've been meaning to get at. Or I could get Christmas stuff put away. But no, I've planted myself in my new chair and have totally vegged out watching movies, blog reading, and playing games on my phone. Short, dark days and darker nights sap any mental energy I might muster.

Snow fell again last night, oh about an inch or so and I was expecting another gloomy, gray day. Thankfully the sun is shining on the snow which reflects back more light which I crave on these short winter days! A bit of energy seems to be awakening in my lazy bones. I'd better take advantage of the sun and get a few chores done before the darkness descends once again.

You should see how the laundry has piled up over the Christmas weekend . . . no, I'll spare you that picture. :)

Hi Von

You enjoy your time with your feet up, sounds pretty good to me! Must admit I am enjoying the time catching up on blogs and websites I don't often get a chance to look at much. Quite relaxing. Been off work a week now, just starting to unwind. It's a good thing.

Happy New Year!

I've enjoyed this week too, I've basically done nothing but stitch (and eat the occasional chocolate) all week and I've enjoyed every minute, I think it does us the world of good to take some time off now and again. Enjoy your time!

So happy to hear you're relaxing. Certainly you've earned it.

It's nice to see your projects for the year. Some of us need more time and less to do!

I know it's supposed to be bad bad bad for your skin, but I have found that 10 minutes in a tanning bed works absolute wonders for my winter doldrums. I think it is a lack of vitamin D. My mood picks up and I feel wonderful after just one session...and once every couple weeks makes the winter so much more productive! Have you ever tried it?

I was enjoying the pictures of your last post. You must have had a very lovely family Christmas. No wonder that you need some me-time now to relax.
