Reaquainted

I've had a little bit of needle time the last few days! There's not much left to stitch on "A Quaker Study" by Carriage House Samplings so motivation to finish is finally kicking in. I just finished the last line of the alphabet and now moving on to the last motifs of the design. It's been a delightful design to stitch.

Sunday afternoon I decided to play with some of my new stamps and papers, getting started on some birthday cards. The other day I purchased that brown non-stick craft sheet you see in the pic below as I'm always gluing off onto a paper base, then later putting down a piece of cardstock and getting unwanted glue on it. All glues peel or wipe right off of this sheet, and it has many other protective uses. Love using those Michael's 40% off coupons for items such as this!

Last Thursday was the last dual league meet, this time at Lawrence Scott Park here in Kennewick, just a short walk away from our house! I called Mystie to see if she and the kids would like to come see Kevin and Kyle run, so they came making it a fun family afternoon.

Kyle chasing Hans.

Kevin catching Jaeger

Ilse being tossed about by Grandpa.

Kevin and Kyle both posted another pr with times of 17:34 for Kyle and 17:36 for Kevin.

Our varsity team ran without our top two runners, yet they won the meet, ending the season undefeated in all our league meets. Currently our top four are sick with the district meet coming up on Thursday in Wenatchee. Argh! I'm really praying that they all recover quickly and can compete, especially the seniors who have worked so hard to get to the regional and state competitions.

Parents sacrifice a lot for their kids. Sometimes it works out that the sacrifice is fun. That was the case for DH and me last night as we participated in a fund raiser for the xc team returning cars from an off-site sale back to the dealership. I got to drive a new Subaru Forester, Honda Accord, Chevy Silverado pickup, a Cadillac Escalade (sweet!!), and pre-owned 2007 Mercedes E350 coupe, Subaru Forester, and a Chevy Aveo. I enjoy driving, so they can sign me up for another fund raiser like this anytime!

How fun with the cars.

You're so close to finishing Quaker Study.

We've had so many kids out with illness at school. I hadn't even thought of how it affects sports teams.

Now that sounds like my sort of volunteer thing, lol!

It's good to hear you have the needle back in your fingers again.

Nice job to have all those cars to drive!

Ahhhh, this piece looks so good. Being nearly done is the best motivation ever, isn't it? I have also pulled out a nearly finished WIP and am stitching away on it. It's pure fun.

I just love your new CHS piece. It's really going to be a strong addition to your collection. I'm mad for Quakers right now. Love and hugs, Deb
