A Day Off

It does seem so unfair that we are sweltering in the heat here in E. Washington and many other areas of the country have had very little summer at all. If I could pass out a few degrees here and there to all my friends needing them, I certainly would! :) But the heat wave continues here and promises to remain with us through the weekend and into next week.

Because of this and the fact that I'm sore all over from pick axing and shoveling dirt and rocks, I took yesterday off. The morning was spent driving kids all round town, in the afternoon I took Kirsten swimming and sat around the pool visiting with friends, and in the evening I stitched. Very sweet.

This morning it's back to my ol' friend the shovel. Today I'm taking out a shrub that I've hated for 22 years! Perhaps I'll replace it with a nice hydrangea. :)

These little time-outs are, indeed, sweet, eh?

The only good thing about doing that kind of hard, manual labor is the opportunity to take a break! I hope you are not too sore and take it easy tomorrow.

Your stitching looks lovely (what I can see of it all nestled nicely on the couch)!

Oh hon I wish you could send some of that weather this way.
It must have been good to have some time to yourself.
Back to the shovel again. You will be happy with the end results I'm sure and all that hard work will be worth it.

The yard work is looking good. And even after the hard work, its a great feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day. Pop over to my blog, there is something for you there :)

Glad you found time to stitch a little bit!

We finally received the rain that we realy needed (and still could use more.) Fortunately, it hasn't been too hot. Hopefully you get some relief from the heat soon!

Stitching... I'd rather be doing that than digging any day. Oh I found the warm weather here in FLA!!! Sooo nice!

I once was told that even the most lovely plant to someone else, if you hate it, is a weed in your garden. It kind of helps when you want to yank it out!
Just call it a weed and pull!

Von, you are relentless. Good exercise though...and your getting more then just good muscle tone :)

I have secured our baby roses and they have arrived home safely. On the other hand...my household is in havoc. We can home to a family of mice that decided to move in...yeeks!
