Party Aftermath

Today I get to clean up the remains of the Cinco de Mayo birthday party we had here last evening. We got a good start on it when things were starting to wind down, but once the dishwasher is full and running and you've had your fill of scrubbing pots, it's time to call it a day and finish up the next. :) I really need to get one of the kids to use my camera during gatherings such as this because I'm too busy preparing food and directing people to take pictures too!

Anyway, we had a delightful time with all our kids and grandkids, celebrating the birthdays of my spring-born babies. Since going green seems to be the theme of the year, we gave the kids the gift of green. Makes things so easy. :)

My needle has seen little use this week, but I'll post an update anyway as I love this pinkeep from the VS retreat.

The eyelets are done up in Belle Soie "May Flowers" silk which is what I used for the smocking on Ilse's dress I recently finished. The lighting this morning is very poor as it's raining here - again!

I'm thankful for those beautifully sunny days in between the showers, but goodness we've had much more rain than is normal. One entire inch more than normal! (4.21 vs 3.23 in.) I know that's what some of you get in an hour, but here in the desert an inch of precip is a lot. At least the weekend is promising to be perfect. We shall see.

This is looking very nice! The picture is fine even though it is raining. And what is up with all this rain this year! Well, at least it's not snow!!
