The Outdoors is Calling

Our weather has been so wonderful the last week that I find myself drawn out into the sun. This phenomenon is extremely good for my garden, not so good for my stitching or laundry, not to mention blogging. But I did put the finishing touches on Margaret's Neighborhood RR and got it mailed. It's kinda hard to see, but there's a little kitten peeking out through the flowers on the lower right. Plus the robins on the birdbath are in honor of the little robin family that nested under my deck. (Baby robin has flown the nest so there's no more robin action until next spring.)

I've been adding bark mulch to some of my flower beds, weeding, etc., and just plain ol' enjoying my back yard. It's so different from the yard we had in the early years, all shade from large pine trees, then it morphed into a dirt pile after connecting our house to the sewer line. Now those pine trees are gone, as is the rusty garden shed, and it's becoming a favorite part of my home.

Graduation was June 7 here in the Tri-Cities, so we've been attending parties the last two weekends. Of course, then we celebrated Father's Day on the 15th. Since the weather was so lovely, we grilled steaks and had our kids, except Kevin and Kyle, and our grandchildren here to enjoy the day. K&K were out of town with our neighbors at their cabin on the lake.

This week is a blur of various orthodontist/oral surgeon/laboratory visits in preparation for Brendan's jaw surgery July 2. Then my three boys will be leaving for camp on Friday, then Gary, Kirsten and I will be driving over to Missoula, Montana, for another geocache event, followed by some sightseeing in Glacier National Park and up into Canada, coming home on Monday. So it's laundry time once again!

Beautiful RR, I liked the robin touch. Lovely flowers as well! The worst of camping is the laundry, seems like it's all you do before AND after you go! Enjoy your trip!

Hi Von,
You sound as busy as me! I'm starting to burn the candle at both ends and stressing out. Like today-do I dust (it really needs it in here) or use the weed whacker? Or do a little of both? : )
Your birdbath and flowers looks sweet on your NRR and I can see the kitty.
The real garden looks lovely and well maintained. Please tell me you have helpers.
Have fun on your trip!

Your block blends in perfectly on Margaret's RR. You always do such beautiful work! Can you tell me what Brendan's jaw surgery is about? I don't remember you mentioning it before, but maybe I just missed the post.
